So let me take an over look:
Super Strength, Quake, Impervious, 4 damage
And Possibly:
Invulnerability and Toughness
WOW what a package! They have to just redeem Thor (please, please!)
"That which does not kill us, makes us stronger..."
How about one last click with no powers but Regenerate? I didn't read much Alpha Flight, but I remember Walter healing a broken arm in his fight with Super Skrull by turning into Sasquatch. Of course, the pain turned him stark raving mad...!
Originally posted by WakandaMan JayThor- I have to disagree with you on activation clicks...to an extent.
Collossus for example. Many many times he walks around with the X-men with normal skin, mostly so they can portray the cool "Steeling-up" effect when a battle does start, but he does do it.
As for Shazam, think of it this way. Young Billy Batson is walking along, when a bunch of villians appear on the other side of the block. Some heroes show up to fight them, and Billy calls out "Shazam" to transform into Captain Marvel and go help. Sounds like exactly what would happen to me.
Absorbing Man regularly goes into battle with his normal skin first (again, so they can show his cool power-up effect).
More often than not it happens. There are a few I would agree with you on, but not many.
First, let me say I agree about Absorbing man.
Now- as to the rest. I don't know how you guys play, but my idea of a clix battle is Contest of the Champions I. Everybody knows they are going to fight, and have already decided how they will use their powers to help each other. In the Contest of Champions I, Sasquatch was never in "normal form, even when it would have made sense in the crowded room. Colossus was armored every time he was shown, and he didn't even get in a match.
As I have said before, I hate non-combatants in a combat game, even if it is only for a click. Thank God they didn't saddle R&E Thor with the Don Blake click.
The greatest commandment is to love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. The second is to love your neighbor as yourself.

Well then, let me say, I understand the annoyance of acitvation characters.
However....I don't think of Heroclix as a Contest of Champions type event, but rather, an independant scenario every time. A good friend of mine is particularly good at coming up with unique plots each time, and even though it all just boils down to a slug-fest in the end, so do most comics.
Try checking out some of the games in the Play by Post forum- at least half of them in there involve intricate and unique plots.
